Sample Paragraph Using a Source.


TS:  The education cuts in Arizona will hurt students and teachers.
F:  For example, according to Mary Jo Pitzl, the author of “Arizona Lawmakers Pass Budget with Deep Education Cuts” from the June 20th, 2012 edition of the Arizona Republic, “universities are targeted to lose 26 percent of their state funding; K-12 education faces reductions of about 7 percent.”
O:  This shows that students, especially college students, will suffer under the new budget since 26% of their funding was cut.
O:  This also shows that there won’t be much money for scholarships or salaries.
F:  In addition, according to Ms. Pitzl, “Jennifer Loredo a lobbyist for the Arizona Education Association said the $242 million in cuts to K-12 will force layoffs.”

Writing a paragraph....


1.        Journal:  What’s your favorite fast food restaurant?



My favorite fast food restaurant is Del Taco.

For example, Del Taco has crinkly, salty, crispy French fries.

This shows that their fries are tasty.

This also shows that people who love fries will love Del Taco.

In addition, Del Taco offers Tacos and Burgers made with real meat.

This shows that there are choices for everyone.

This also shows that their tacos and burgers are better than Taco Bell or Jack in the Box since those restaurants use a soy mixture with their beef.

If I have to eat fast food, I’m going to my favorite restaurant, Del Taco.
