TS: The
education cuts in Arizona will hurt students and teachers.
F: For
example, according to Mary Jo Pitzl, the author of “Arizona Lawmakers Pass Budget
with Deep Education Cuts” from the June 20th, 2012 edition of the Arizona
Republic, “universities are targeted to lose 26 percent of their state funding;
K-12 education faces reductions of about 7 percent.”
O: This shows
that students, especially college students, will suffer under the new budget
since 26% of their funding was cut.
O: This also
shows that there won’t be much money for scholarships or salaries.
F: In addition,
according to Ms. Pitzl, “Jennifer Loredo a lobbyist for the Arizona Education
Association said the $242 million in cuts to K-12 will force layoffs.”
